Formed in 1978, the Lions
are one of the oldest existing semi-pro teams in the country
with a rich tradition of success. The Lions spent their first
16 seasons in the Northern Ohio Football League. While in
the NOFL, they won eight league titles. In 1994, the Lions
made the step up to the MCFL and the winning continues. The
Lions have been runner-ups to the Kane County Eagles for
the
coveted league championship in 1998 and in 2001. In 2002,
the Lions finally defeated the Kane County Eagles in a triple
overtime contest to become the league champions. With Rich
Dial, two time consecutive Coach of the Year, at the healm
the Lions are a team to watch as they continue their quest
for success.
This non-profit organization is dedicated
to the promotion of amateur football and has proven it by
consistently putting a great squad on the field. This is one
of the few squads in the country owned by a woman. You will
find team owner Margaret Burrows at all the games doing anything
necessary to make sure her team is ready to play.
